Environmental Energy and Engineering Company (E3) provides unique renewable energy and Green House Gas (GHG) mitigating technologies, professional engineering services, and plant operation and maintenance services.
Services
Our team of engineers and scientists perform treatablity studies, economic and feasibility analysis, facility design, project design documents (PDD) in accordance with UNFCCC and IPCC methodologies for CDM projects or greenhouse gas offsets, construction management and facility operation and maintenance.
Specialty
E3 specializes in biomass renewable energy, nutrient recovery and sequestration and GHG mitigation projects using conventional or proprietary technologies (see proprietary technologies below). E3 has 15 patents or patents pending for anaerobic digestion, combined heat and power, nutrient recovery, gas management and biomethane production.
Substrates
We process a variety of substrates from the dilute, such as potato waste or flushed dairy or swine manure, to waste slurries, such as sewage sludge or scraped manure, to solid waste such as poultry manure, food waste, and the organic fraction of municipal solid waste.
Advanced Technologies
• We provide zero emission anaerobic technologies for the conversion of waste to renewable energy. Our zero emission, high solids process converts waste into two products, an enriched organic fertilizer, and biomethane gas. No other emissions occur. The facilities can be placed in urban areas close to the source of waste and product sale / utilization, thus minimizing transport costs.
• We provide high rate anaerobic digestion facilities that maximize the organic substrate’s conversion to gas. Our high rate processes include the AGF process and the Clear Cycle process. These processes are ideal for dilute slurries.
• We provide anaerobic digestion facilities that incorporate pasteurization to maximize the conversion organic substrates to methane gas and a pathogen free fertilizer. The AGF pasteurization process will convert up to 80% of the organic waste to gas and a pathogen free product meeting the EPA 503 standards as well as the California "Leafy Green" organic fertilizer standards.
• We incorporate nutrient recovery technologies in our processes for air and water pollution abatement as well as the capture and recovery of valuable nutrients such as ammonia nitrogen and phosphorus. The processes operate at low pressures without expensive reagents.
• We can incorporate our low-pressure gas cleanup technologies for the conversion of biogas to biomethane for pipeline or transportation fuel. The low-pressure technologies are more cost-effective than any other available process including PSA or water scrubbing. Our low-pressure gas cleanup technologies operate without chemical reagents and eliminate the loss of methane gas and the disposal of a "tail gas".
• Our technologies include a variety of processes such as our high rate totally enclosed flotation process that can be used in a wide variety of pollution abatement or process applications. See the Flotation Animation at www.cyclus.com.

Products of Value
Our facilities can produce a single solid fertilizer, a liquid and solid fertilizer or liquid slurry effluent. Our facilities can economically produce a Class A organic fertilizer meeting California's leafy green standards for organic fertilizer by producing a pasteurized solid product. Our facilities can produce inorganic nitrogen compounds from organic waste. Our gas handling and cleanup process can produce biomethane, which has a significantly greater value than the biogas normally produced. Finally, our processes maximize greenhouse gas credits associated with the production of renewable energy from biomass or organic waste materials
